Carole joined the choir as Musical Director in 2008, having been Associate Conductor of the Morriston Ladies Choir up until 2007. She has always had a love of music since childhood, having been brought up in a musical family. Carole started to learn to play the piano at 6 years of age, even playing hymns for school assemblies in Junior School!

Carole’s love of choral singing was nurtured in the Mynyddbach School Choir under the baton of Elwyn Rees and then Eric Jones. Helen, our deputy conductor, was also a member of that choir, along with some of our choristers, which says a lot for the impact it made on our musical lives.

Carole studied voice and piano while undertaking teacher-training in Cardiff and performed as a soloist in local concerts. Her career has spanned both primary and secondary schools in the Neath/Port Talbot and Swansea area.  Developing a love of singing with the children and putting on musical shows like ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ and ‘Jungle Book’ was a real pleasure. Before taking early retirement, Carole ran a Literacy Centre in a local comprehensive school and found it to be a very fulfilling role.
