Jonathan is a self-taught musician. He was able to play the piano by ear at an early age and was playing for Church and School Assembly from the age of 7. His passion for musical theatre, musical direction and his solo work has taken him far and wide over the last 25 years. He has been lucky enough to entertain British and European Royalty on numerous occasions both at public events and privately. He is fortunate enough now to spend most of his daytime tutoring and coaching children and adults as a singing teacher.

In addition to his work with Swansea Bay Ladies Choir, he is Musical Director for the Morriston Emergency Department (NHS) Choir, Abbey Players, Cockett Amateur Operatic Society, Harry’s Youth Theatre and Dunvant Rugby Club Singers.

The Covid Pandemic was a difficult time for all performers and Jonathan was able to continue working throughout it thanks to the determination of all the wonderful people he works with. Favourite shows that he has taken roles in include ‘Oliver’, ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’. His favourite shows to have musically directed are ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’, ‘9 to 5’, ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Hello Dolly’.
