Singing, and in particular choral music, has always been Helen’s first love … musically speaking that is! After performing with an outstanding girls’ choir at Mynyddbach Comprehensive School and then with the West Glamorgan Youth Choir, where she often performed as a soloist, Helen went on to take ‘A’ Level music and then a Bachelor of Music Degree at UCC Cardiff.

Helen has taught music throughout her career, firstly as Head of Music at Pontarddulais Comprehensive and the for the West Glamorgan Music Service. She been a member of many choirs including the BBC Chorus, Swansea Bach Choir and now sings regularly with the Swansea Philharmonic Choir. She has also taken numerous solo roles for local Amateur Dramatic Societies, most notable with Uplands Arts. Helen has now turned her hand to conducting and is delighted to be a part of Swansea Bay Ladies Choir.
